Our School

Rosemont Elementary opened in September 1981 under Principal Ronald Cowan. Enrollment at Rosemont Elementary exceeded 1,000 students in grades K-6 during its first few years. Rosemont Elementary is located on Rosemont Rd. close to the intersection of Rosemont Rd. and Lynnhaven Pkwy., nestled in the Green Run community.

Our current principal is Cari Hall and current enrollment averages about 460 students in grade Kindergarten to 5th. We house 2 VBCPS Pre-K classrooms as well. We have a committed and dedicated staff that helps our students achieve their very best! Rosemont Elementary School continues to be a “fully accredited” school as measured by our Virginia Standard of Learning (SOL) assessments. We have recently been recognized as the only chool in Virginia Beach to receive the “Title One Distinguished School Award” for the second year in a row.

Rosemont Elementary offers our students many opportunities to support and enrich their education by offering an iPad and a Chromebook for every student, after school tutoring, chess club, chorus club, STEM, SCA, Girls on the Run and other programs as well. We have a caring and supportive PTA who holds many fun and free events for families such as Nacho Bingo Night and Breakfast with Santa. All of these factors combined support our goal of developing in each child an attitude of dignity, and respect while helping them to explore their talents and reach their potential.

Beginning in the 2015 - 2016 school year, Rosemont became one of 11 Anchor Schools in Virginia Beach with an iPad for every student. In September 2017, we received Chromebooks for students in grades 1 - 5.
